Cemetery Maintenance Operative Grade: 1Section: Bereavement ServicesLocation: Various cemetery and crematoria sites across the cityPay:£13.45 About the Role We are seeking committed and hardworking individuals to join our Bereavement Services team as Cemetery Maintenance Operatives. This important role helps ensure the city''s cemeteries and crematoria remain safe, clean, dignified, and respectful places for bereaved families and visitors. This is a varied outdoor role involving grounds maintenance, site care, and practical support across multiple locations. Successful candidates will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism at all times. Please note: A valid Category C1 driving licence is essential for this role, as operatives are required to drive utility vehicles for maintenance purposes and travel between sites. Key Responsibilities As a Cemetery Maintenance Operative, your duties will include: Emptying refuse and dog waste bins and transferring waste to bulk collection facilities. Removing and appropriately disposing of floral tributes, memorial items, and litter across cemetery and crematoria sites. Maintaining pathways and hard-surfaced areas, including winter maintenance duties when required. Carrying out ground levelling, seeding, and turfing activities to maintain site standards.
