Major recruitment are recruiting for a Cemetery Maintenance Operative to join our client''s team based in Kings Norton, Birmingham.

• Pay Rate: -13.45 per hour
• Location: Kings Norton Cemetery (Longdales Road, Birmingham)
• Working Hours: Flexibility required across opening hours, including weekends. 36.6 h weekly
• Position Type: Temporary / Ongoing

Key Responsibilities

As a Cemetery Maintenance Operative, your duties will include:

• Grounds Maintenance: Litter picking, emptying refuse/dog waste bins, ground levelling, and seeding or turfing.
• Site Care: Clearing and maintaining paths, removing old floral displays, and undertaking winter maintenance duties when required.
• Security: Unlocking and locking the cemetery and crematoria sites in line with seasonal hours.
• Compliance: Identifying and reporting safety hazards, and completing basic paperwork such as vehicle check lists and timesheets.

Requirements (What You Need)

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Driving Licence: A valid Category C1 licence is essential, as you will be required to drive utility vehicles for site maintenance.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to undertake physical, manual tasks outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience: Previous experience in physical outdoor activities and working in a customer-facing environment is highly preferred.
• Communication: Good communication skills, with a respectful approach when interacting with bereaved family members and visitors.
• Teamwork: Able to work reliably on your own initiative and as part of a wider team.
