This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK''s leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.GeneralRole: Ceded Reinsurance ManagerDivision: Ceded ReinsuranceReports To: As per Beazley''s organisation chartKey Relationships: Business units, reinsurers, brokers, ceded reinsurance colleagues and financeJob Summary: Combine detailed knowledge of business requirements with market knowledge and problem solving skills to pro-actively and creatively support delivery of the businesses reinsurance needsKey ResponsibilitiesProvide proactive support to the Head of Ceded Reinsurance in the execution of her remit.Specific responsibilities include:Reinsurance BuyingDevelop an understanding of current and likely future reinsurance needs of the business units.Support the Head of Ceded Reinsurance and business units with reinsurance aspects of the business planning process.Support the Head of Ceded reinsurance''s relationship management activity with brokers, reinsurers and internal stakeholders.Prepare renewal submissions and marketing presentations.Manage the whole buying process for certain reinsurance programmes as agreed with the Head of Ceded Reinsurance.Manage liaison with the Technical Administration Unit to ensure the effective post-placement handover of all contracts.OperationsRisk management: maintain a system to ensure appropriate sign off from all relevant parties at every stage of the reinsurance purchasing process.Manage the performance framework in respect of all placement activity to ensure that all targets are being met / exceeded.Own the reinsurance spend forecasting for Specialty Risks and Cyber Risks for current and forthcoming year.Regulatory returns - e.g, Lloyd''s returns.Counterparty SecurityPrepare and present papers for the Group''s monthly Security Committee.Respond to business unit security queries.Manage the counterparty security framework to ensure that analysis is accurate and timely.Propose solutions to ensure that the counterparty security framework continues to be strengthened.Develop an interactive relationship with broker security analysts, in particular Gallagher Re Market Security.Develop a detailed understanding of the key drivers of counterparty credit issues through appropriate research and effective networking.GeneralIt is important that within all your interactions both internally and externally you adhere to Beazley''s core values - Being Bold, Striving for Better, and Doing the Right Thing - as they contribute to an internal environment of teamwork and promote a positive brand image and experience to our external customers. This may include, amongst others, Beazley''s underwriting control standards, Beazley''s claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management.Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system.
