C/C++ Software Engineer

Location: Cheltenham (hybrid working)Duration: 6 month contractInside IR35 Role details: Our client, a leading developer of mission-critical and safety-critical systems for the defence and aerospace sectors, is seeking a C/C++ Software Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role will involve developing robust embedded software for applications used across military aircraft, vehicles, civil aerospace and unmanned systems. Key Responsibilities:Defining requirements, designing, developing and verifying software across a range of integrity levelsProducing high-quality C and C++ code in line with internal software standardsDeveloping and testing bare-metal embedded softwareCreating accurate software design documentation and supporting requirements developmentCarrying out software testing, debugging and verification within embedded environmentsParticipating in design and code reviews to maintain robust engineering standardsWorking collaboratively with wider engineering teams and technical stakeholders Job Requirements:High proficiency in C and C++ software developmentExperience writing bare-metal embedded softwareUnderstanding of software development lifecycles, requirements and verification processesExperience with Git, containerised development environments and CI/CD workflowsFamiliarity with debugging tools, hardware interfaces and safety analysis techniquesStrong organisational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a wider teamExcellent communication ..... full job details .....
