Kitchen Assistant – Sparkbrook, Birmingham

Location: Sparkbrook, Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term temporary
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join a school in Sparkbrook, Birmingham, on a long-term basis, starting ASAP.

The successful candidate will support the school''s catering team with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health and safety.

• Monday: 8:45am – 2:45pm

• Tuesday: 9:45am – 2:45pm

• Wednesday: 9:45am – 2:45pm

• Thursday: 9:45am – 2:45pm

• Friday: 8:00am – 12:00pm

• Assisting with food preparation and service

• Supporting the catering team with the day-to-day running of the kitchen

• Washing up and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen

• Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas

• Assisting with stock and deliveries as required

• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times

• Supporting with other general kitchen duties as required

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable

• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety

• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Ability to work in a busy school kitchen environment

• Previous experience working within a school environment would be advantageous

As this is a school-based role, all candidates will be required to successfully complete Supply Register''s full vetting and compliance process prior to commencing work, including:

• Enhanced DBS check – candidates on the DBS Update Service are preferred

• Satisfactory employment references

• Right to Work checks

• Full safeguarding and compliance checks
