Catering Assistant Louth

AA Euro Healthcare is currently recruiting Relief Catering Assistants to work in a busy healthcare environment located in Louth and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional catering team delivering a high-quality food service to patients, staff, and visitors.

A panel may be formed from which future Relief Catering Assistant vacancies may be filled.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, plating, and serving of meals
• Transport meal trolleys to ward kitchens and support ward-based food service
• Serve meals to patients while respecting dietary requirements
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchens, pantries, and dining areas
• Carry out cleaning duties, including pot washing and equipment cleaning
• Assist with stock checks and food deliveries as required
• Record food temperatures and follow HACCP guidelines
• Report faulty or unsafe equipment promptly
• Work collaboratively with chefs, catering staff, and hospital teams.

Requirements

• Candidates must have completed second level education to Leaving Cert standard.
• Previous catering or hospitality experience (healthcare setting desirable but not essential)
• Must have a current HACCP & Manual Handling certs
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Flexibility to work rostered hours, including weekends
• Good physical health and ability to meet the demands of the role
• Garda Vetting (or willingness to undergo vetting)
• Must be eligible to work in Ireland without the need of sponsorship.
• Must provide 3 written references from previous employers.
