As a Category Manager, you will oversee the contractual relationships between the business and various stakeholders. You will serve as a key liaison across all business directorates, guiding procurement activities in adherence to relevant policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Guide and support procurement activities in line with company policies and regulatory requirementsManage tendering processes for indirect purchases across multiple company directoratesNegotiate and prepare contracts to fulfil business requirements and franchise commitmentsLiaise with the Client Relationships and Contracts Team and DfT for contract approvalsProvide commercial and contractual advice as neededAct as the primary contact with external legal advisors regarding contractsAttend contract review meetings and provide management reportingAssist in reviewing and enhancing procurement policies and proceduresSupport the Head of Client Relationships and Contracts in meeting business needsNavigate a challenging environment, communicating effectively within the company and with external organisationsAdhere to Abellio Group Procurement Policy and WMT Procurement StrategyBalancing business requirements with NRC commitmentsEnsuring rigorous application of contractual rights and obligationsSupporting the fulfilment of annual business plan commitmentsSeeking best value through effective contract management
Experience and Skills Required:Demonstrated experience in Category Management for large organisationsFamiliarity with Utilities Contract RegulationsProficiency in contract management and negotiationAbility to interpret complex legal documentsStrong commercial and financial acumenExperience working with legal advisorsNegotiation and influencing skillsMultitasking ability to manage conflicting deadlinesTeam player
