Category Buyer - Desford (Contract)
Are you an experienced Category Buyer with a strong background in purchasing and supplier management? We are looking for a skilled professional to join a team in the Desford area for a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your expertise to provide supply network solutions and deliver significant value.
About the Role
As a Category Buyer, you will be crucial in managing indirect purchasing categories and ensuring the entire supply network operates efficiently. Your primary focus will be on delivering maximum value through a focus on Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing indirect purchasing category strategies.
- Identifying opportunities for cost reductions, inventory improvements, and quality enhancements.
- Acting as the main point of contact between the organization and its suppliers.
- Documenting supplier performance and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
- Ensuring the soundness of business proposals and conducting risk assessments.
About You
We are seeking a candidate with a strong purchasing background, excellent communication skills, and a strategic mindset.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven purchasing experience.
- Experience with contracts and negotiations.
- A degree or equivalent experience.
- A proactive attitude with exceptional attention to detail.
- A working knowledge of data analytics, effective communications, interpersonal relationships, and purchasing tasks.
- A basic understanding of contracts management, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing.
Details and Benefits
- Pay Rate: -19.90 - -20.90 per hour.
- Contract: 12 months.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00).
- Location: Office-based in Desford.
