Category Buyer

Straight-Line Civils are currently hiring a Category Buyer to join an international company's procurement team.

You will be based out of their office in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Commodity Manager in Commodity Risk Management (CRM), utilising market intelligence and supplier knowledge and preparing reports as required
• Maximise opportunities to mitigate risk across the area of spend responsibility
• Reviewing supplier contracts and seeking terms which benefit the client
• Drafting and executing RFI’s and RFQ’s, preparing recommendations for approval before implementation
• Sourcing new suppliers, preparing for supplier approval, following new supplier processes, including master data requirements and onboarding of new suppliers
• Seeking collaborative resolution of problems both internally and externally while protecting the long-term interests of the company.
• Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Own the CRM category plan for your defined area and ensure all supplier master data for your defined category is accurate and maintained

Key Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience in Sourcing and Commodity markets mainly in food manufacturing
• Experience in supplier management
• Experience in ERP and MRP tools
• High level understanding of incoterms
• Competency in negotiation skills
• High level competency on Excel & Power point

Salary - £50,000/annum

Hybrid working pattern with 4 days in the office
