Cassandra Experienced Data Engineer Needed!I''m currently supporting one of my investment banking clients who are looking to bring on a Data Engineer on an initial 6 month contract with scope of extension with Cassandra experience. The role will require 2-3 days a week in the London office with my client being able to pay up to 700 per day inside IR35. Responsibilities include:Design, implement and maintain Apache Cassandra clusters ,including keyspace design, replication strategies and partitioning models.Develop and optimise data models aligned to query patterns (denormalization ,partition key design, avoiding hotspots and wide partitions).Performance tuning: compaction strategies consistency levels, read/write path optimisation, JVM/GC tuning.Manager cluster operations: node additions/decommissions, repairs (node tool), backups and disaster recovery.Monitor cluster health using tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, OpsCenter, or equivalent.Support CQL query development and advice application teams on best-practice access patterns.Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams on hardening, encryption (at rest/in transit) and authentication/authorisation (RBAC)Produce technical documentation including data models, runbooks, and operational procedures.If this role is of interest, please apply with an updated version of your CV and you will be contacted if suitbale.Please click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
