Working alongside our Carpentry Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality practical teaching and learning for students studying carpentry, joinery, and related construction programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced carpentry professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge and contributing to the development of the next generation of skilled craftspeople. Key Responsibilities Prepare workshops, tools, equipment, timber, and materials for practical lessons. Support lecturers during practical training sessions, ensuring students work safely and effectively. Maintain carpentry and joinery workshops to a high standard, ensuring machinery, tools, and equipment are clean, serviced, and ready for use. Carry out routine maintenance of workshop equipment and ensure all tools are safe, secure, and fit for purpose. Monitor, organise, and replenish workshop materials, consumables, and stock. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, COSHH requirements, and college policies. Assist with setting up practical assessments, demonstrations, exhibitions, and college open events.
