Carpenter/Multi-Trade Assistant

Manpower Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join our client''s maintenance and property services team on a full-time, fixed-term contract.

This is a fixed Term Contract, for up to 12 weeks, with the opportunity to be extended.

For the right candidate, we would be paying £19.12ph and would be working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

*Ideally you would have a driving licence, as main responsibilities are based in Buckinghamshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing carpentry, repairs, maintenance, and general multi-trade work across domestic, commercial, or public-sector properties. This is a hands-on role requiring high-quality workmanship, reliability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
Key responsibilities

• Carry out first- and second-fix carpentry work.
• Install, repair, and maintain doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves, flooring, and other timber fixtures.
• Complete general building repairs and maintenance.
• Undertake additional multi-trade duties, including basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, decorating, and minor repairs.
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Work from job instructions, drawings, and maintenance schedules.
• Complete work to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Liaise professionally with customers, tenants, colleagues, and supervisors.
• Keep tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean and safe.
• Follow all company policies, risk assessments, and health and safety procedures.
• Report any further works, hazards, or materials required.

About you
The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Carpenter, Multi-Trade Operative, Maintenance Operative, or similar.
• Strong carpentry and joinery skills.
• Experience carrying out general property repairs and maintenance.
• The ability to complete basic tasks across other trades.
• Good attention to detail and pride in their workmanship.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A reliable, flexible, and professional approach.
• A full UK driving licence, if required for the role.
• Relevant qualifications or trade certifications, such as NVQ, City andamp; Guilds, or equivalent, are desirable.
