Job Title: Multi Trade Operative (Carpentry Bias)

Location: Swindon / Wiltshire
Employment Type: Contract / Temporary

We are seeking an experienced Multi Trade Operative with a strong carpentry background to carry out responsive maintenance and environmental improvement works within occupied social housing properties across Swindon and Wiltshire.

This role focuses on improving ventilation, reducing condensation and mould, and completing associated minor repairs and finishing works to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service to residents.

• Carry out door undercutting to improve airflow and ventilation within properties
• Install, replace, and block trickle vents in line with specification
• Complete mould wash treatments safely and effectively
• Undertake minor decoration works including making good surfaces after repairs
• Diagnose and resolve minor maintenance issues within your skillset
• Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations
• Work in occupied properties, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach
• Accurately report completed works and any follow-on requirements to supervisors

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry/Joinery (minimum) – NVQ Level 3 desirable
• Proven experience as a Multi Trade Operative or Maintenance Operative
• Strong carpentry skills, particularly in door adjustments and ventilation works
• Experience in social housing or occupied properties preferred
• Ability to carry out basic decorating and making-good tasks
• Good understanding of damp, mould, and ventilation principles
• Full UK driving licence
• Own tools essential
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
