TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming middle school in Cheddar that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and practical School Caretaker.The school is seeking a reliable and motivated individual who will take pride in maintaining its buildings and grounds. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors.This is a permanent, all-year position offering 35 hours per week. The precise working pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant.The successful School Caretaker will be responsible for:• Completing general repairs and routine maintenance• Undertaking basic carpentry, plumbing and decorating tasks• Helping to maintain the school s buildings, grounds and facilities• Supporting site security and health and safety procedures• Monitoring the condition of the premises and reporting concerns• Working effectively with school staff, external contractors and visitors• Following relevant compliance procedures and school policies• Contributing to the continued improvement of the school environmentThe ideal School Caretaker will have:• Practical maintenance and general DIY skills• Experience of basic repairs, carpentry, plumbing or decorating• A proactive, organised and dependable approach• The ability to work independently and use their initiative• Strong communication and teamwork skills• A willingness to learn about school compliance systems and procedures• A commitment to safeguarding ..... full job details .....
