Location: Hounslow, TW3
Contract: Temporary ongooing 
Hours: As required
Salary: £16.00 - £16.25 per hour 
Start date: Immediate 
 
We are seeking a practical, reliable, and compassionate Temporary Caretaker / Handyperson to support a  remediation programme in  Hounslow.
 
Working closely with third parties , you will provide practical assistance to help prepare properties for treatment.
 
This includes helping  pack belongings, moving furniture where required, disposing of unwanted items, and carrying out steam treatments once equipment and training have been provided.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Assist in packing and boxing personal belongings ready for treatment.
• Help move furniture and household items to allow access for treatment.
• Support the safe disposal of unwanted or heavily infested items.
• Carry out steam treatment of flats following training and in accordance with agreed procedures.
• Provide practical support to residents in a respectful, professional, and compassionate manner.
• Keep communal and working areas clean, tidy, and safe.
• Follow all health and safety, manual handling, and pest control guidance.
• Report any concerns or issues to the Housing Team.

About You
The successful candidate will:

• Have experience in a caretaker, maintenance, handyman, facilities, or similar practical role.
• Be physically capable of lifting and moving household items safely.
• Be approachable, patient, and confident working with residents in their homes.
• Be able to work independently and use their own initiative.
• Have good communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude.
• Previous experience in social housing, supported housing, or a customer-facing environment is desirable but not essential.
