Permanent Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with occasional out of hours work and occasional weekends/evenings. Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, supporting older people for over 120 years. Redcotis is a residential care home on the outskirts of Haslemere, Surrey, focusing on helping older people live fulfilled lives whether through longer residential stays or short-term respite.Responsibilities
Work alongside the management team and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the care homeProvide leadership and line management to the care home teamDrive continuous improvement through effective monitoring and proactive managementDeliver financial sustainability for the homeEnsure residents receive safe, effective and personalised care that enables them to live fulfilling livesLead a culture of collaboration and openness and embed safeguarding and best practice across the homeMeet all regulatory requirements and uphold the charity’s values of respect, equality, diversity and inclusionChampion staff wellbeing and ensure it runs through everything the home doesTo be successful you’ll need to have
NVQ 4 or 5 / QCF 5 in Health and Social Care or working towardsExperience complying with care and other regulatory frameworksAbility to communicate and liaise with representatives of health and social care organisations and local/national government bodiesGood performance management and reporting skillsExcellent care provision experience (care homes with and without nursing, care for people living with dementia, etc.)Good communication skills — verbal, written, listening and questioningStrong understanding of adult safeguarding and related issuesKnowledge of HR policies and processesStrong understanding of Health and Social Care Act and CQC regulationsUnderstanding of the principles of person-centred care and conditions affecting people in later life, including dementiaSafeguarding and Equality
