Care Assistant
Location: Wareham
Pay Rate: -16.80 per hour (via umbrella)
Shift Pattern: 09:00 to 16:00, Monday to Sunday
Contract Type: 1:1 package of care

We are currently recruiting an experienced Care Assistant to support a 1:1 package in Wareham for a female client living with dementia.

This is a community-based role, so we are looking for someone who enjoys getting out and about, supporting people to remain active and engaged. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this position.

This package is currently covered by two regular carers, and there is also the potential for the role to develop into a live-in package in the future for anyone who may be interested.

The role will involve:

• Supporting the client at home and out in the community
• Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing and daily routine
• Providing practical and emotional support
• Managing and appropriately de-escalating behaviours that may challenge
• Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
• Working closely with the wider care and clinical team
• Maintaining professional boundaries at all times

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a care or support role
• Experience supporting people living with dementia
• Confidence working on a 1:1 basis
• A calm, compassionate and proactive approach
• Strong communication and observational skills
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
