Hours: Full Time – 36, 42 or 48 hours per week available – 7:00am–7:00pm / 7:00pm–7:00am (Days or Nights Available)
Salary: £30,430.40 per annum
Welcome Bonus: £500 joining bonus available
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded nursing and residential care home located in Whitehaven, Cumbria.
Our client is part of an established portfolio of six care homes across Cumbria, with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care. The home provides a supportive and welcoming environment where residents receive personalised care and staff are valued, supported and encouraged to develop.
Set in a peaceful countryside location close to the Cumbrian coastline, the service supports approximately 45–50 residents, creating a warm and homely atmosphere where individuals can feel safe, respected and cared for.
The home provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia support, taking a person-centred approach that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing. Residents benefit from meaningful daily activities and a dedicated team committed to providing the highest standards of care.

We are seeking Care Assistants to join this friendly and supportive team. Previous care experience is not essential — we are looking for people with the right attitude, compassion and willingness to learn.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidates, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to begin or develop a rewarding career in care.
This is a full-time permanent position offering 36, 42 or 48 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts from 7:00am–7:00pm or 7:00pm–7:00am. Both day and night shifts are available.
The RoleAs a Care Assistant, you will:
- Provide kind, compassionate and person-centred support to residents
- Assist with personal care, mobility, dressing and daily routines
- Support with meals, hydration and wellbeing
- Promote dignity, independence, choice and respect at all times
- Encourage residents to take part in activities and social opportunities
- Build positive relationships with residents and their families
- Maintain accurate care records and work as part of a dedicated team
- A naturally caring, compassionate and respectful person
- A genuine desire to support and improve the lives of others
- Reliable, patient and approachable
- Good communication skills
- Willing to learn and develop new skills
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Previous care experience is welcome but not essential
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care is desirable but not required
- £30,430.40 per annum salary
