The Role As a Cardiac Scrub Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the surgical team by preparing theatres, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing expert scrub assistance during a wide range of cardiac procedures. Key Responsibilities Scrub for a variety of cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), valve replacements, and other complex cardiac operations. Prepare, check, and maintain specialist cardiac surgical instruments and equipment. Ensure theatres are fully prepared prior to each procedure. Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection prevention standards. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon throughout procedures and provide efficient scrub support. Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists, and the wider theatre team. Complete accurate clinical documentation in line with local policies.
