If you ve ended up just loading and pressing go, you ll know how frustrating that gets. This Capstan Setter/Operator role is much more hands on. It s a smaller company, so you re not lost in the background. As a Capstan Setter/Operator, you ll be setting and running your own Ward 2D capstan lathes and getting on with it. No programming. No overthinking it. Just proper, traditional machining. You ll be working on special fasteners nuts, bolts, washers, socket caps plus second ops like facing, parting off, chamfering and screwing. Batch sizes around 20 plus, so it s not repetitive. There are a handful of people on site. Two machinists, with support across dispatch, materials and inspection. It s steady, everyone knows what they re doing, and you re left to do your job. They re looking for a Capstan Setter/Operator who is confident and competent. Someone who doesn t need watching over. Hours are 39 per week, usually 6am to 3pm. There s some flexibility if needed. Overtime is there at time and a third. Pay is hourly and depends on your experience as a Capstan Setter/Operator. I...
