      <description>Location: Wolverhampton | Salary: &amp;pound;14.00 - &amp;pound;16.00/hour | Type: Permanent | As a Capstan Setter/Operator, you know the difference between running a machine… and actually doing the job.   If you’ve ended up just loading and pressing go, you’ll know how frustrating that gets.   This Capstan Setter/Operator role is much more hands on.   It’s a smaller company, so you’re not lost in the background. As a Capstan Setter/Operator, you’ll be setting and running your own Ward 2D capstan lathes and getting on with it.     No programming.   No overthinking it.   Just proper, traditional machining.    You’ll be working on special fasteners… nuts, bolts, washers, socket caps… plus second ops like facing, parting off, chamfering and screwing. Batch sizes around 20 plus, so it’s not repetitive.   There are a handful of people on site. Two machinists, with support across dispatch, materials and inspection. It’s steady, everyone knows what they’re doing, and you’re left to do your job.   They’re looking for a Capstan Setter/Operator who is confident and competent. Someone who doesn’t need watching over.   Hours are 39 per week, usually 6am to 3pm. There’s some flexibility if needed.
