Capital Projects and Estates Manager

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Capital Projects and Estates Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership and management of all premises and sites across Pontefract Academies Trust, and undertake the role of the Health and Safety at Work competent person for the Trust.About usPontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase Multi-Academy Trust comprising nine schools: seven primaries and two 11-16 secondary schools. Five of our primary schools rank within the top 1% nationally for progress, and our secondary schools feature among the top three secondary schools in the Wakefield district.Key ResponsibilitiesTo monitor the condition of premises through regular inspections and implement a rolling programme of repairs and maintenance which supports a cost-effective maintenance programme across the Trust.To support the procurement of contacts through formal competitive tendering procedures in accordance with Trust financial regulations.To manage the delivery of works covering capital projects, compliance and cyclical maintenance ensuring that these are delivered to agreed standards, programmes and contract values.Be responsible for directing and advising site premises teams regarding all estates and facilities issues in conjunction with school leadership.This is a 37 hours per week, all year round, permanent contract.What can we offer you?We’re passionate about employee benefits at Pontefract Academies Trust, offering the following as standard to all:Exciting career and leadership pathways supported by outstanding CPD opportunitiesEveryday Development (EDD) Framework: A simple, personal and flexible goal-based approach to continuous learning, career growth and wellbeing.For the 2025/26 academic year, we will be providing staff with three Everyday Development (EDD) days.
