Role Title: Capital AccountantType: Interim 3 to 6-month contractDay Rate: CompetitiveHybrid: Onsite presence is a requirementLocation: LeicestershireSellick Partnership are working with a Local Authority in Leicestershire who are seeking an experienced Capital Accountant to support the finance team with a range of urgent year-end and capital accounting activities.The successful candidate will utilise their specialist knowledge of corporate finance, government policy and local authority finance legislation to support the production of the Council''s financial accounts and ensure key statutory deadlines are met.The responsibilities of the Capital Accountant will be:Supporting the production of the Statement of Accounts, specifically relating to capital accountingPreparing and reviewing year-end working papersResponding to external audit queries and supporting audit sampling requestsCompleting key balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting the production of quarterly capital monitoring reportsPreparing government returns and capital grant claimsEnsuring compliance with local authority accounting regulations and statutory guidanceThe ideal candidate for the Capital Accountant role will have:Previous experience working within Local Government financeStrong capital accounting experienceExperience supporting the production of Statement of AccountsKnowledge of local authority accounting regulations and capital financeExperience liaising with external auditorsExcellent analytical and ..... full job details .....
