Capability Lead - Defence Equipment System Performance

Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a Capability Lead - Weapon System Performance to lead a specialist engineering group responsible for assessing the performance of advanced weapon system solutions. This permanent role offers the opportunity to develop a growing capability that supports weapon system design, development and operational effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage a group of specialist engineers working across multiple weapon system projectsBuild a high-performing, inclusive and enduring engineering capabilityDevelop and deliver a compelling vision for the future growth and development of the capabilityOversee recruitment, staff development, knowledge management, capacity planning and objective settingProvide technical leadership on emerging topics, bids and project activitiesLead the assessment of weapon system performance using complex models and high-performance computing environmentsSupport mission planning, algorithm development and performance testing across a range of operational conditionsBuild effective working relationships with project customers and other engineering functionsJob Requirements:Experience leading specialist engineering teams with varying levels of experienceStrong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycleKnowledge of mission planning, algorithms and weapon system performance assessmentExperience of performance testing, analysis and the use of complex engineering ..... full job details .....
