The closing date is 25 September 2025MFT CAMHS Emerge 16-17 CMHT offer developmentally appropriate, accessible and young person-centred mental health services to young people aged 16 and 17 years who live in Manchester, Salford and Trafford. Under supervision the post holder will manage a caseload and provide a range of high quality care appropriate to the young person''s needs, which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and evidence-based interventions. The post holder will have a range of mental health and engagement skills and knowledge to deliver care in line with trust values from within a multi-disciplinary team setting.Main duties of the job
To undertake initial assessment with young people in a holistic and young person-centred way, including gathering of appropriate information from the child/young person, their family and from other relevant agencies.Following assessment, to develop a formulation and plan for intervention, in partnership with the young person and those in their support network and communicating this to the referrer and other relevant professionals.Under supervision to assist with duty activity, offering telephone support, liaison and consultation services to young people and relevant professionals.To liaise with a range of other statutory and voluntary/3rd sector professionals working in other young people''s services.To co-work cases managed by other members of the multi-disciplinary team.To work from a multi-agency perspective in liaison with other professionals.To attend and contribute to professional meetings.To keep accurate, timely and thorough records of care provided to all patients, including the compilation of appropriate statistics.To provide written reports as required and within timescale.Under supervision to be responsible for the management of agreed tasks in relation to specific services/resources within Emerge to ensure the efficient and safe running of that aspect of the service.About us

Qualifications
You must have a recognised qualification in: Registered Nursing: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN - RNMH)/ Social Work / Occupational Therapy or other relevant qualification: e.g. Improving Access to Psychological Therapies qualificationYou must be registered with a professional body. e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) / Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) / Social Work England / British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)Qualifications in Psychotherapeutic approaches e.g. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)/ Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)Experience
Experience of working effectively with people with mental health difficultiesExperience of assessing and managing risk: including safeguardingExperience of providing evidenced based assessments, formulations and treatment packagesExperience of liaison and working with a range of other relevant agenciesExperience of caseload working within a multidisciplinary mental health settingUnderstanding of Clinical GovernanceExperience of working in Child and Adolescent Mental HealthExperience of providing interventions for children and young people with mental health problems and their familiesKnowledge
