CAM Engineer

Job Title: CAM Engineer Department: Engineering Location: Nuneaton Reports To: Engineering ManagerRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced CAM Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Nuneaton facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate, efficient CNC machining programmes from customer CAD models and engineering drawings, ensuring components are manufactured safely, economically, and to the highest quality standards.Working closely with Engineering, CNC Machinists, and Production, you will optimise machining strategies, improve manufacturing efficiency, and provide technical support throughout the production process.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce high-quality CNC machining programmes using approved CAM software (PowerMill and occasionally WorkNC).Develop efficient, collision-free toolpaths for complex one-off and bespoke components.Support production requirements by maintaining and improving programmes for repeat and high-volume manufacturing.Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer data to develop manufacturing solutions.Select appropriate tooling, tool holders, and machining strategies to maximise efficiency and quality.Ensure suitable fixtures, workholding, and machining methods are identified prior to production.Liaise with the Engineering Manager to fully understand project scope, priorities, and manufacturing requirements.Support CNC Machinists during prove-out and first-off manufacture, making programme improvements ..... full job details .....
