Salary: £110–£140 per day

Are you a youth worker, sports coach, behaviour mentor or experienced professional working with young people looking to take your skills into a secondary school environment?
Principal Education is working with secondary schools across Berkshire who are seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to support students and maintain a positive learning environment when teachers are absent.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes using pre-prepared lessons and activities, while supporting students with their learning, behaviour and engagement. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within education, with flexible working options available.
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a safe, calm and positive classroom environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and activities provided by teaching staff.
- Support students with learning, behavioural and additional needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation.
- Act as a positive role model and build effective relationships with students.
- Record and report any relevant attendance, behaviour or safeguarding concerns.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff and school leadership.
Person Specification
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with children or young people, including:
- Youth workers
- Sports coaches
- Behaviour mentors
- Teaching assistants
- Graduates with relevant experience
- Other professionals with strong transferable skills
You will also need:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- A calm, flexible and reliable approach.
- The ability to adapt to different schools and classroom environments.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- An Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
