Calf Rearing Manager

Due to continued growth, we have a new opportunity available for a Calf Rearing Manager to join our client one of the largest beef farming operations in the UK covering the South Wales region. Job Title: Calf Rearing Manager Location: Covering South Wales Region Salary: Competitive + Company car Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm (flexibility required due to business needs/travel - 4 days travelling to site/1 day home-based) The role: This is a hands-on role where you will be providing expert guidance and support to farm teams, ensuring the highest standards of calf health, nutrition, and welfare are met across farms in South Wales. Duties and Responsibilities: Reviewing calves as they come into the unit to ensure they meet the procurement specification . Assist with tagging, vaccinating and weighing of animals where required. Regular visits to calf-rearing units to ensure that rearers are compliant with protocols. Work closely with the veterinary team to ensure that calf health and welfare is upheld as a priority, helping to maximise growth rates and minimise losses and wastage. Collate data and assist the veterinary team in completing 6 monthly health reviews at each rearing unit. Use farm software to monitor data and records inputted by the rearer. Following up leads of potential new rearers, visiting them and their unit and assessing suitability.
