Are you an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer or CNC Programmer looking to work on complex, high-precision components in a modern manufacturing environment?
Our client is seeking a CAD/CAM Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing and optimising machining processes, supporting new product introduction, and improving manufacturing performance across a diverse range of precision-engineered components.
As a CAD/CAM Engineer, you will be responsible for developing efficient CNC machining processes and supporting production from quotation through to manufacture. Working closely with engineering, production and quality teams, you will help deliver high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing solutions while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description
- Program complex 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres using CAD/CAM software.
- Develop and optimise machining strategies to improve productivity and reduce cycle times.
- Support new product introduction activities from quotation through to production.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and cutting strategies to maximise efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimise downtime.
- Work closely with production, quality and engineering teams to improve manufacturability and process capability.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, setup sheets and work instructions.
- Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles.
- Provide technical support and guidance to machinists and production personnel.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards and health & safety requirements.
CAD/CAM Engineer
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a CAD/CAM Engineer, CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar role.
- Strong experience programming 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software, (Hypermill experience highly advantageous)
- A background within precision engineering, aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport or similar manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and fixture selection.
- Experience supporting NPI and process improvement activities.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
