The Opportunities
Our client is expanding their design team and is looking to recruit CAD Technicians to support the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects across the rail and water sectors.
If you''re an early-career CAD Technician looking to develop your technical skills this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy working on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
You''ll work alongside experienced engineers and designers, contributing to the production of high-quality engineering drawings while developing your career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
As a CAD Technician, you''ll support the production of engineering drawings while developing your technical skills through hands-on project experience and mentoring from experienced engineers and technicians.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing accurate engineering drawings and models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assisting with drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensuring drawings comply with company and industry standards.
- Using standard details and templates to prepare engineering drawings.
- Working within established quality procedures and design processes.
- Managing project documentation using ProjectWise and similar systems.
- Supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams across a range of infrastructure projects.
- Continuously developing your CAD and engineering knowledge through training and practical experience.
About You
You''ll have:
- Around 2-3 years'' experience using CAD software.
- UK Water industry experience
- A good understanding of engineering drawings and drafting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
- A genuine interest in developing a career within engineering design.
Desirable Experience
- Civil 3D and/or Revit experience.
- HNC or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience within the rail or wider infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and CAD best practice.
- Experience using ProjectWise or similar document management systems.
- Exposure to 3D modelling software.
