CAD Technician – 2D AutoCAD Focus

Location: Shrivenham | Own transport required
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00
Salary: £29,000 - £33,000 DOE | Permanent

We’re working with a well-respected contractor based just outside Swindon who is looking to bring a new CAD Technician into their talented team.

This is a fresh opportunity for someone with 2D AutoCAD skills to step into a key technical role where your work genuinely shapes the build process.

You’ll be part of a close-knit technical team supporting a range of construction and civils-based projects. You’ll be responsible for:

• Producing and amending 2D AutoCAD drawings to client's specification

• Supporting the pre-construction team with layout plans and design visuals

• Coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors to keep designs accurate and aligned

• Maintaining document control for issued drawings and project versions

• Contributing to value engineering and practical design improvements

• Attending occasional site visits to support drawing coordination and real-world application

• Ideally, you'll have some experience as a CAD Technician in construction or a related field — but we’re equally keen to hear from graduates or those with formal AutoCAD training.

• Proficient with 2D AutoCAD

• Solid understanding of build processes and how your drawings feed into the bigger picture

• Comfortable managing multiple drawing packages with attention to detail

• Must have own transport – location with limited public transport options
