Cabling Shift Engineer (Data Centres) - Optic Fibre£45,323 + Shift Allowance (£6,500), Travel Allowance, Bonus Scheme, pension, life assurance, income protection, private health care LondonShift work: 4 days on/4 days off, 12 hours'' night/day shiftJOB OVERVIEWYour duties will include installation, preparation, splicing and testing of singlemode and multimode optic fibre; installation, termination and testing of category 5 and category 6, UTP, STP and coaxial. You will perform cable moves and all necessary changes to existing system as required, cable management aiming at maximising capacity and efficiency of the installations. You will be responsible for testing and labelling all installations, providing all relevant record to be presented to the customers according to company standards. Essential requirements:Significant experience in fusion splicingGood experience in copper terminationPrior experience in cabling within the telecoms industryPrior experience of testing and fault-finding on all cable typesEducated at least to GCSE levelDesirable:Datacoms cabling part 1 (City and Guilds 3466-04) or BTec equivalentFibre Optic installation and testing (City and Guilds 3466-02 and 03) or BTEC equivalentHealth and Safety in the Work Place Working at HeightLifting and HandlingWe are looking for an organised and motivated self-starter demonstrating initiative and methodical approach to work.
