Cable Assembler/Wire Person Salary: 15 per hour Working Hours: 7:30 to 3:45 (Mon to Thurs) Friday early finish Location: Hitchin Job Type: Temporary with a view to permanent About the Role Our client is a friendly and well-established Manufacturing business looking for a skilled Cable Assembler / Wire Person to join their team. You will be responsible for assembling cable harnesses, PCB assemblies and sub-assemblies, working from technical drawings, schematics and detailed instructions. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Key Responsibilities Assemble cables, PCB assemblies and sub-assemblies. Read and follow technical drawings, schematics and instructions. Carry out soldering, wire stripping and crimping. Complete point-to-point and semi-automated testing. Use hand and power tools to assemble components. Check completed work to ensure it meets quality standards. Identify and report defective parts or issues. Maintain a clean and organised working environment. Work effectively as part of a small team. Essential Skills and Experience Previous experience as a Cable Assembler, Wire Person or similar. Ideally 2 years'' relevant experience, although candidates with strong manual dexterity will be considered. Experience within the electronics industry. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics. Experience with soldering, wire stripping and crimping. Good attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
