Our client is looking for someone with experience in supporting buying/purchasing activities within a public sector environment. Key responsibilities of the Buyer will include: Review and process purchase requisitions using the purchasing system Identify and negotiate ''best buy'' opportunities by considering alternative products or sources of supply Assess customer requirements, sourcing products and services, researching the marketplace for suitable suppliers where necessary Support purchase to pay processes enabling the timely payment of invoices Invite competitive quotations where appropriate in line with Trust SFI''s and Standing Orders Negotiate with suppliers as necessary to achieve best value or to maintain consistency in contractual commitments Generate, record and report on cost-avoidance and cash releasing savings achieved Support the implementation and delivery of E-catalogue and Purchase to Pay (P2P) re...
