A growing engineering and manufacturing group is expanding its commercial team to support ongoing business growth across multiple global locations. The organisation operates across a wide range of industrial sectors, delivering specialised products and technical solutions.
The role is responsible for managing procurement activities and overseeing inventory control functions within a UK-based operation. This position focuses on ensuring efficient sourcing, supplier performance, cost control, and stock optimisation to support both project delivery and wider business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, components, and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders for purchasing processes and project activities.
- Analyse spending patterns and contribute to cost reduction initiatives.
- Negotiate supplier agreements to achieve favourable pricing and terms.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers and components.
Experience & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or project coordination within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Awareness of quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
