      <description>Location: Surrey | Salary: &amp;pound;30000 - &amp;pound;35000/annum | Type: Permanent | Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Surrey based client to recruit for a Buyer.       Main purpose of role:   To own, maintain and develop an assigned portfolio of suppliers and products. Building strong, performance-managed supplier relationships that secure continuity of supply, drive down cost and risk, and keep stock and service levels on target.      Duties:    Own and maintain an assigned portfolio of suppliers.  Hold regular supplier reviews.  Ensure supplier terms and agreements are maintained and up to date.  Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.  Negotiate pricing, rebates, lead times with suppliers to meet company cost and margin targets.  Place and expedite timely purchase orders  Maintain correct stock levels.       Skills and Experience required:    Previous experience as a Buyer from within a manufacturing environment  Good negotiation experience.  Previous experience with managing suppliers.  Good numeracy and written skills.
