Buyer - Temporary Contract

An established international manufacturing business is seeking a proactive Advanced Buyer to provide additional support during a period of growth and ongoing project activity. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to strategic purchasing, supplier engagement, and new product introduction within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
This role offers the chance to work on a variety of purchasing and programme-related activities within a global manufacturing setting. The initial contract is expected to run for six months, however, there is potential for extension based on business requirements and project demands.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with procurement activities linked to new product introduction and project launches.
- Support supplier tendering processes, including request preparation, quotation assessment, and cost comparisons.
- Track project milestones and supplier commitments to ensure delivery against agreed schedules.
- Maintain purchasing data, reports, project trackers, and management dashboards.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support programme progress.
- Assist with supplier quality and development activities throughout project lifecycles.
- Support prototype builds, tooling coordination, and launch readiness reviews.
- Work collaboratively across engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain functions.
About You:
- Degree qualified in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or a similar field.
- Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, project coordination, or manufacturing environments is desirable.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify solutions.
- Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable working within multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Working Pattern:
- Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:40
- Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
