MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting a Buyer for one of our engineering clients based in Greenock.About This RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a fast-paced engineering organisation, playing a critical role in supporting operational and project delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services, directly contributing to production efficiency and business performance.Working closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams, you will act as a key link between internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This role offers the chance to influence supplier strategy, drive cost savings, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic and innovative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSource and procure engineering materials, components, and services in line with project and production requirementsNegotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve best valueDevelop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliersMonitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standardsCollaborate closely with engineering, production, and planning teamsManage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processingIdentify opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsEnsure compliance with company policies and procurement proceduresMaintain accurate procurement records and reportingRequirementsProven experience in a Buyer ..... full job details .....
