Engineering BuyerOverviewBuyer required for an Engineering and manufacturing company based in Staffordshire. The role will provide day-to-day support to the operational supply chain through the effective use of MRP/ERP systems, ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase materials, components and services in line with production and operational requirements.Raise and manage Purchase Orders, ensuring requirements are met in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing issues and supporting continuous improvement.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with existing suppliers.Support the Senior Buyer in the identification, assessment and selection of new suppliers.Review MRP/ERP systems daily to identify material requirements, shortages and potential supply issues.Monitor supplier lead times and delivery schedules, taking proactive action to minimise disruption to production.Prepare supply chain documentation, purchasing reports and supplier quotations as required.Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve purchasing, delivery and material-related issues.Support the wider operational supply chain to ensure materials are available when required.Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records within the relevant systems.Contribute to ongoing improvements in purchasing processes, supplier performance and supply chain efficiency.Professional Skills and ..... full job details .....
