SF Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a well-established distribution business based in Leicester to recruit a Buyer to join their growing Procurement and Supply Chain team.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in managing the procurement of materials-focusing on cost-effectiveness, lead times, and quality. The role also requires strong supplier relationship management and a proactive approach to achieving business and inventory targets.
Key Responsibilities:
-Monitor and analyse stock trends, reorder codes, and parameters to improve purchasing processes
-Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
-Maintain and develop supplier relationships, ensuring optimal performance and value
-Manage inventory levels effectively in line with business needs
-Take a proactive role in global logistics and shipping decisions
-Lead on large tenders and contribute to cross-departmental projects
-Oversee contracts including pricing agreements, rebates, and terms
-Support the Purchasing Manager with executing the broader purchasing strategy
About You:
-Previous experience in a Purchasing or Buying role is essential
-Confident in negotiation, tendering, and contract management
-Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing a fast-paced workload
-A natural communicator with strong interpersonal skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
-Innovative and solutions-focused with a keen eye for efficiency
