      <description>Location: Gateshead | Salary: 35000.00-35000.00 Annual | Type: Permanent | Company Buyer (Building Bias) Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Job Type: Permanent The Role We are looking for an experienced Company Buyer with a building/construction bias to support procurement activity across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing construction and civil engineering materials, managing supplier relationships, evaluating quotations and ensuring materials are procured at the right price, quality and time. You will work closely with site teams, suppliers and the wider procurement function to ensure projects are adequately supported and deliveries are coordinated with programme requirements. Key Responsibilities  Purchase construction materials, goods and services, balancing cost, quality and delivery requirements. Manage and support the Assistant Buyer, including delegation, guidance and training. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Assess and evaluate suppliers and monitor ongoing performance. Support supplier performance improvement and ensure agreed requirements are met.
