Buyer

An exciting position has been created for a Buyer to join a global manufacturing business with multiple business sites throughout the UK. The Buyer will report directly to the Group Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager and be responsible for delivering an efficient, resilient and commercially effective purchasing function across the Group. The role combines operational purchasing, supplier management, inventory control and ERP/MRP development. Key Responsibilities of the Buyer:Lead day-to-day purchasing activitiesManage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, acknowledgements and supplier expeditingMonitor supplier performance and resolve supply issuesMaintain inventory availability whilst reducing excess and obsolete stockSupport ERP/MRP maintenance including supplier data, lead times, MOQ and planning parametersSupport sourcing exercises, cost reduction and supplier negotiationsWork closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, Finance and Warehouse teamsIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within purchasing processes Skills and Experience required of the Buyer:Manufacturing and/or engineering environment purchasing experienceERP/MRP systems knowledgeSupplier negotiation and relationship managementStrong analytical and Excel skillsExcellent communication and organisational skills What you get:Base salary of 30,000 - 35,00028 days holidaySubsidised private medicalMedical InsurancePensionBonus schemeTraining and professional development ..... full job details .....
