A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading design and manufacturer of electronic equipment and instruments as a Buyer. Based in Huntingdon this is a fully onsite position.This key position sits within an established purchasing team and is to support the sourcing and supply of electronic components as per production requirements.The successful candidate must have experience purchasing electronic components with the supply chain globally based. Key responsibilities of the BuyerSource components based on forecast and average usage dataIssue RFQs and collate responsesOrder through franchised distribution to lead timeOrder from alternative sources to fill any gapsObtain acknowledgements and file appropriatelyReport regularly on progressEngage with New Projects and attend NPI meetings where requiredDeputise for the Purchasing Manager where requiredSupport Quality Manager in resolving supplier quality issues Skills and experience required of the BuyerExperience of a dynamic electronics manufacturing environmentExperience of buying electronic componentsExperience of using MRP/ERP systemsExcellent communication skillsCommercially astuteStrong negotiation skillsThis position would suit someone with experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain as a Junior Buyer, Buyer, Senior Buyer, purchasing specialist, category manager or commodity manager. ..... full job details .....
