Business Support Officer
Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic School Business Support Officer to join a well-established and supportive school in the heart of Burnley.

Responsibilities of the School Business Support Officer Role
- Undertake all business and financial management transactions relating to school resources and prepare reports for the Headteacher as required.
- Manage the school''s administrative function through planning, developing, designing and monitoring administrative systems and procedures.
- Manage a small team of support staff, including actioning appraisals and recruitment and selection, where applicable.
- Assist the Headteacher and Governing Body with income generation activities and in promoting and marketing the school, including lettings, where applicable.
- Arrange the provision, analysis and evaluation of data, detailed reports and information for the Senior Leadership Team, Governing Body and outside agencies.
- Manage the administration of human resources processes.
- Assist in the procurement process, including securing appropriate service contracts, licences and insurance.
- Support the implementation of the school''s health and safety policies as directed.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts, including the School Fund.
Individuals in This Role May Also
- Monitor and administer a whole-school budget of approximately -1,000,000.
- Undertake a PA role to the Headteacher or another senior member of staff.
- Coordinate staff cover arrangements.
The Ideal School Business Support Officer Will Have
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, including Headteachers, school staff, parents, governors, school finance offices and children.
- Experience of a range of financial responsibilities, including managing and monitoring budgets, processing invoices, procurement, accounting for cash and preparing accounts.
- Experience maintaining computerised records.
- Experience using Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Publisher and Teams.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
