Business Support Officer

Overview: One of my local government clients is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join their Enforcement Team. This is a key administrative role within the Revenues department, supporting the effective and lawful recovery of public funds through efficient back-office operations. Key Responsibilities: Provide professional day-to-day administrative support to the Enforcement Agents Act as the first point of contact for enforcement-related queries (phone, email, post) Handle and process payments, maintain receipts, update accounts and records Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and external agencies Maintain data quality, meet audit standards, and ensure compliance with GDPR Track enforcement activity, issue communications, and escalate complaints when necessary Support fair and consistent service delivery aligned with Council policies Person Specification: Knowledge and Experience: Proven experience in a revenues enforcement or debt recovery administrative role Working knowledge of Taking Control of Goods regulations, Business Rates, Council Tax, and other enforcement mechanisms Experience dealing with challenging customers and working under pressure Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information effectively Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and internal databases Organised, methodical, and capable of ..... full job details .....
