Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Business Studies Teacher in St Albans to teach Key Stages 4 and 5. You will help pupils connect business theory with real commercial decisions, develop confident written analysis and prepare effectively for examinations. This role suits a subject specialist who can make concepts clear and build students'' confidence with case studies and extended responses.
Your responsibilities
- Plan and teach Business Studies lessons aligned with the school''s specifications.
- Develop understanding of marketing, finance, operations and human resources.
- Teach exam technique, including application, analysis and evaluation.
- Assess work, identify gaps and provide focused support before assessments.
- Maintain accurate progress records and contribute to departmental planning.
What you will need
- QTS and experience teaching Business Studies at GCSE and post-16 level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach examination skills explicitly.
- Confidence planning, marking and managing mixed-attainment classes.
Economics teaching experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Include your exam boards and any A-level or vocational business qualifications taught.
The brief combines subject teaching with full planning and assessment responsibilities. The relevant examination boards will be confirmed before interview.
