Business Development Manager – About the Company

Our client is an established and successful business operating within the retail sector, with a strong customer base and continued plans for growth.

They are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team, with responsibility for identifying and winning new business opportunities. This is a new position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the full business development process, from generating opportunities through to securing new partnerships and supporting their successful onboarding.

Business Development Manager – Details

• Monday to Friday, full time, with flexible start times
• 3 days per week based in the office
• £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + Commission

Business Development Manager – Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective customers
• Research target markets and proactively generate new leads
• Build relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
• Prepare professional responses to tenders and new business opportunities
• Present the business to prospective customers both remotely and face-to-face
• Arrange and attend meetings with potential new customers
• Manage opportunities through to securing new business
• Work closely with internal teams to support the successful onboarding of new customers
• Analyse performance and identify opportunities for further growth
• Identify market trends and bring forward ideas to generate sales
• Attend conferences and external events throughout the year

Business Development Manager – What We''re Looking For

• Previous experience in Business Development or Sales
• Proven experience of identifying, developing and winning new business
• Experience within retail, ideally clothing or fashion, although this is not essential
• Strong lead generation and pipeline management experience
• Confident presenting to customers and senior stakeholders
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and commercially focused approach
• Ability to manage your own diary, workload and travel effectively

Desirable:

• Experience within clothing, fashion or another product-led retail environment
• Experience responding to tenders and negotiating contracts
• Knowledge of garment composition and manufacturing processes
