About the Company
Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business experiencing continued growth. They are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with a driven Business Development & Sales Coordinator to help identify new opportunities, expand market presence, and develop long-term customer relationships.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong sales or business development background who also brings a technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets
- Generate, qualify, and convert sales leads into new commercial accounts
- Manage inbound and outbound sales enquiries, ensuring opportunities are maximised
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive repeat and long-term business
- Prepare quotations and proposals, including interpreting technical requirements and specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to support accurate quoting and customer discussions
- Conduct market research to identify new sectors, customers, and growth opportunities
- Support and attend client meetings to assist with business development activity where required
- Work closely with internal engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular updates on pipeline activity and performance
- Support the wider commercial team in achieving and exceeding sales and growth targets
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in internal sales, external sales, or business development
- Strong technical background within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience within injection moulding, plastics, or similar manufacturing sectors (highly desirable)
- Proven ability to generate leads, develop relationships, and close opportunities
- Strong commercial awareness with a proactive, results-driven approach
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales tools
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
