Location: West London
Salary: -400 per day
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: 6 months

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Surveyor to join a Healthy Homes Team on a six-month temporary contract, helping to improve the quality, safety and condition of residents homes.

This is more than a traditional surveying role. You will use your technical expertise to identify issues, investigate building defects, support complex disrepair cases and help develop practical solutions that improve living conditions for residents.

You will play an important role in ensuring homes remain safe, sustainable and fit for the future, working closely with colleagues, contractors and external partners to resolve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out property and building condition surveys and inspections.
  • Investigate building defects and property-related issues.
  • Support the management of complex disrepair cases.
  • Identify appropriate and cost-effective remedial solutions.
  • Provide professional surveying advice and recommendations.
  • Assess property condition and potential risks.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and external partners.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and survey information.
  • Use professional judgement to prioritise workloads and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Contribute to improving the safety, sustainability and overall quality of residential properties.

What We''re Looking For

The successful candidate will have experience in building surveying, property maintenance, housing or a similar environment.

You will ideally have:

  • A relevant surveying qualification, with HNC or HND Building Surveying studies as a minimum.
  • Experience of carrying out property inspections and identifying building defects.
  • Knowledge of building construction and maintenance.
  • Experience dealing with property condition or disrepair matters.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A practical, customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to provide value-for-money solutions while maintaining appropriate standards.
