Building Surveyor - Newbury

About the Role
We are currently seeking a Freelance Building Surveyor to support a range of commercial construction projects based in Newbury, West Berkshire. This role is well suited to a motivated and reliable individual looking to gain or build on practical experience within the commercial sector, while contributing to ongoing project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with building surveys, site inspections, and condition reports
• Support the preparation of basic specifications and schedules of work
• Identify and report on property defects and maintenance requirements
• Monitor site activities to ensure work is progressing in line with plans and standards
• Liaise with site teams, contractors, and project stakeholders as required
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations

Requirements

• Some experience or academic background in Building Surveying or a related field (preferred but not essential)
• Basic understanding of UK building regulations and construction practices
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
